Work Experience

Freelance Data Entry for a church database website (www.australianchurches.net.au), my job was to assist the owner parsing and checking the data entered into the online form. All work was done remotely via a web interface, communication with site’s owner via Skype.

YPRL (Yarra Plenty Regional Library), Eltham Branch

1 Week of Work Experience, involving general library activities such as putting away books, retrieving books/cds/dvds for reserved loans and delivering packages to nearby bookstore.

Basic Computer Skills: Highly Competent in the operation of most Microsoft Office (2003,2007,2010) products including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint. Also fairly competent in Visio and Project Also know how to use (the basics of) Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat.

Advanced Computer Building Skills: Highly Competent in the selection of parts, building, and the configuration of Personal Computers - along with installation of both Windows and Linux operating systems and their subsequent configurations. Knowledge of VM (Virtual Machine) software and its operations. Specifically, Oracle VirtualBox.

Networking: Highly competent in setting up Peer-to-Peer networks, IP Addressing, DHCP configuration.

Troubleshooting PCs: Skilled at tracing down problems within computer systems by use of diagnostic tools (such as MemTest 86+ for memory, SMART Utilities for Hard Drives) for testing both hardware and software. I have worked with PCs most of my life, I have learnt over the years the symptoms of specific faults and their diagnosis/remedy.
